The American branch of the Falkland Islands Philatelic Study Group (FIPSG) resolved to hold a regional meeting at PACIFIC 97, just concluded in San Francisco.
A member in the area offered the use of his home and we were off and running. There were a few baubles along the way. The man coordinating everything lost his house and all communication from members in the middle of the process; but we still pulled it off.
We understand that there are slightly more than 100 members in North America. Of that number, we had approximately 10%. A very impressive showing.
The success of this meeting encourages us to attempt regional meetings at future APS conventions and international shows.
